Guidance System without Belts as an End Post, Post in Black, for Stations and Halls, Four Directions at the Head

Two belts instead of one: The Stopper Twin runs two bands one above the other. The difference shows where many people are moving: a single band at hip height gets overlooked or stepped under, while two bands form a visible plane and read as a boundary. Airports, stations, museums and event spaces therefore work mostly with double systems.

2.5 metres of reach: Each band extends up to two and a half metres, half a metre more than the single-belt series. Over long queueing routes that adds up: twenty metres take nine posts instead of eleven. Both bands retract under braking rather than snapping back into the cassette.

Four directions at the head: The post accepts bands from four directions. Crossings and loops of the kind used for queues in front of counters can therefore be built without placing a second post alongside.

Belt colours: The bands come plain in black, red and blue and two-tone in red/white and yellow/black. Plain bands organise, two-tone bands warn. That distinction is established in public spaces and should not be mixed, because a warning band on an ordinary queue loses its effect.

Without a belt: The Twin is also available without a cassette of its own as the end point of a run. It only receives the band of the previous post and costs correspondingly less.

Planning a queue: Reckon on a lane width of about one metre. Narrower gets uncomfortable, wider and the bands lose their guiding effect. A queue of four lanes at eight metres each needs around twenty posts, depending on the number of turns.

Safety: For layouts on or beside escape routes the Anti Panic adapter can be retrofitted, releasing the belt end under pressure. On double systems it is needed on both bands.

Care: Pull the bands out fully now and then and wipe them down. Dust travelling into the cassette slows the return, and with two bands that shows twice over.

Combining: Twin posts work alongside the single-belt series, since the receivers follow the same principle. In practice a mixed run is worth planning carefully, because the lower band of a Twin sits below the belt height of a single post and the line looks uneven.
