The photo stand 11 x 17 cm is made for prints in 11 x 17 cm, one step above the standard 10 x 15 print: the portrait format in the 2:3 aspect ratio produced by 35 mm film, DSLR and mirrorless cameras. The stand is a frameless picture frame made of crystal-clear PLEXIGLAS® XT, 2.0 mm thick. The photo fills the surface edge to edge; there is no frame, no backing board and no clips. All you see is the picture itself, carried by a pane that almost disappears in the room.
Construction and handling: Base and pane are one single bent piece, the footprint measures roughly 11 x 7.5 cm. To insert a picture, slide it in from the top behind the inclined pane until it sits on the lower edge; it holds without clips and can be swapped just as quickly. Four anti-slip feet under the base keep the stand in place. At 116 g the stand is light enough for the windowsill and stable enough for the desk.
Material: The pane is made of original PLEXIGLAS® XT, an acrylic glass that is UV-stable and does not yellow. It lets through more light than window glass and is considerably more break-resistant. The edges are diamond-polished, so crystal clear instead of milky. A soft cloth and water are all it takes to care for it; cleaners containing alcohol or abrasives attack the surface and do not belong on acrylic glass.
Typical applications: In the living room and the hallway the stand replaces the frame on the wall and can be moved at any time when a new photo arrives. At the workplace it holds the picture of the family, at reception the notice card for visitors. Photo studios show proof prints from the shoot in it, hotels put information for guests in the room, and at weddings it stands on every table with the names of the guests.
The right size: 11 x 17 cm sits between the standard prints 10 x 15 and 13 x 18 and shows a portrait a little larger without dominating the desk; its landscape counterpart is the 17 x 11 cm stand. The 2:3 range comprises 9 x 13, 10 x 15, 11 x 17, 13 x 18, 20 x 30 and 30 x 45 cm. For phone photos in 3:4 portrait format there are sizes from 9 x 11 to 30 x 40 cm, for phone videos and stories the 9:16 format.
