The photo stand 15 x 11 cm is a landscape format in the 4:3 aspect ratio, the standard format of smartphone cameras and compact cameras. 15 x 11 cm brings landscapes and group pictures from the phone to the table without cropping. The stand is a frameless picture frame made of crystal-clear PLEXIGLAS® XT, 2.0 mm thick; the picture fills the surface edge to edge, without frame, backing board or clips.
Construction and handling: The photo stand is bent from a single piece and needs a footprint of roughly 15 x 6.5 cm. The base carries four anti-slip feet, the inclined pane holds the picture: the print slides in from the top behind the pane and rests on the lower edge by itself. Changing it takes a few seconds and needs no tools. At 104 g the stand is light enough for the windowsill and stable enough for the desk.
Material: The pane is made of original PLEXIGLAS® XT, an acrylic glass that is UV-stable and does not yellow. It lets through more light than window glass and is considerably more break-resistant. The edges are diamond-polished, so crystal clear instead of milky. A soft cloth and water are all it takes to care for it; cleaners containing alcohol or abrasives attack the surface and do not belong on acrylic glass.
Typical applications: In the living room and the hallway the stand replaces the frame on the wall and can be moved at any time when a new photo arrives. At the workplace it holds the picture of the family, at reception the notice card for visitors. Photo studios show proof prints from the shoot in it, hotels put information for guests in the room, and at weddings it stands on every table with the names of the guests.
The right size: 15 x 11 cm is the landscape version of the 11 x 15 cm stand; it takes phone photos printed at 15 cm width and is wide enough to be recognised from the other side of the desk. The 4:3 range comprises 11 x 9, 13 x 10, 15 x 11, 17 x 13, 27 x 20 and 40 x 30 cm. For prints from DSLR and mirrorless cameras in 3:2 landscape format there are sizes from 13 x 9 to 45 x 30 cm.
