The photo stand 17 x 11 cm is the landscape format in the 3:2 aspect ratio delivered by 35 mm film, DSLR and mirrorless cameras. 17 x 11 cm sits one step above the standard print and shows landscape pictures a little more generously. The stand is a frameless picture frame made of crystal-clear PLEXIGLAS® XT, 2.0 mm thick; the picture fills the surface edge to edge, without frame, backing board or clips.
Construction and handling: The photo stand is bent from a single piece and needs a footprint of roughly 17 x 6.5 cm. The base carries four anti-slip feet, the inclined pane holds the picture: the print slides in from the top behind the pane and rests on the lower edge by itself. Changing it takes a few seconds and needs no tools. At 124 g it stands calmly on sideboard and counter too, without tipping.
Material: The pane is made of original PLEXIGLAS® XT, an acrylic glass that is UV-stable and does not yellow. It lets through more light than window glass and is considerably more break-resistant. The edges are diamond-polished, so crystal clear instead of milky. A soft cloth and water are all it takes to care for it; cleaners containing alcohol or abrasives attack the surface and do not belong on acrylic glass.
Typical applications: In the living room and the hallway the stand replaces the frame on the wall and can be moved at any time when a new photo arrives. At the workplace it holds the picture of the family, at reception the notice card for visitors. Photo studios show proof prints from the shoot in it, hotels put information for guests in the room, and at weddings it stands on every table with the names of the guests.
The right size: 17 x 11 cm is the landscape version of the 11 x 17 cm stand; it shows travel and landscape photos larger than the standard print and at 124 g stays light enough for the bookshelf. The 3:2 range comprises 13 x 9, 15 x 10, 17 x 11, 18 x 13, 30 x 20 and 45 x 30 cm. Phone photos in 4:3 landscape format fit the sizes from 11 x 9 to 40 x 30 cm.
