The photo stand 18 x 10 cm is a widescreen landscape format in the 16:9 aspect ratio, the format of video stills, panoramic shots and phone photos taken in 16:9 mode. At 18 x 10 cm it shows panoramas and widescreen photos the way they appear on the phone display. The stand is a frameless picture frame made of crystal-clear PLEXIGLAS® XT, 2.0 mm thick; the picture fills the surface edge to edge, without frame, backing board or clips.
Construction and handling: Base and pane are one single bent piece, the footprint measures roughly 18 x 6.5 cm. To insert a picture, slide it in from the top behind the inclined pane until it sits on the lower edge; it holds without clips and can be swapped just as quickly. Four anti-slip feet under the base keep the stand in place. At 96 g the stand is light enough for the windowsill and stable enough for the desk.
Material: The pane is made of original PLEXIGLAS® XT, an acrylic glass that is UV-stable and does not yellow. It lets through more light than window glass and is considerably more break-resistant. The edges are diamond-polished, so crystal clear instead of milky. A soft cloth and water are all it takes to care for it; cleaners containing alcohol or abrasives attack the surface and do not belong on acrylic glass.
Typical applications: In the living room and the hallway the stand replaces the frame on the wall and can be moved at any time when a new photo arrives. At the workplace it holds the picture of the family, at reception the notice card for visitors. Photo studios show proof prints from the shoot in it, hotels put information for guests in the room, and at weddings it stands on every table with the names of the guests.
The right size: 18 x 10 cm is the larger of the two 16:9 sizes; a widescreen photo printed at 18 cm width fills the pane exactly. The smaller version is the 15 x 9 cm stand. The 16:9 range comprises 15 x 9 and 18 x 10 cm. For classic prints in 3:2 landscape format there are sizes from 13 x 9 to 45 x 30 cm.
